Well, Dolly Parton was the mentor and provided the songs for tonight’s American Idol show. Here’s a recap. Fun fact: Dolly Parton can make music using her acrylic nails.

While the songs weren’t horrible, I can’t say I had a favorite. I guess Ramiele get’s the boot tomorrow night.

So, LeBron James is on the Vogue cover, holding frail and pale Gisele Bündchen in his arms, and America gets its knickers in a twist.

Why is it that people take one look at a black guy holding a white (well, Gisele is Brazilian, actually) woman and, almost instantly, call it racist? I simply don’t get it.

The Vogue cover shows LeBron in game mode–a dynamic picture. He’s a model athlete. Gisele next to him looks just like a supermodel should: Beautiful and smiling happily, because she’s on the Vogue cover. Where is the fricking problem?

I see no hidden context, no hidden agenda, no racist undertones…NOTHING. Just a picture shot by famous Annie Leibovitz.

But, no, people take one look at the cover, have the idiocy to compare it to King Kong, and call it racist.

What I call racist? Comparing a model athlete to an animal. It’s not the cover that is racist, but the whole discussion, comparison, and the absurd wish of some people that LeBron should have worn a suit.

Because, hey, if LeBron would have smiled, wearing Armani while doing so, then, only then would the picture not been racist? How stupid is that?

Why do we have to dig and bitch and detect racism at every opportunity?

I’m not saying racism doesn’t exist, but go and look for it somewhere else, because you won’t find it on the Vogue Cover.

and following the general hubbub Sen. H. Clinton’s words created, I’m wondering if I shouldn’t follow her example. Because, let’s face it, every story sounds better if you infuse it with a sense of danger and sniper fire.

Anyway, calling someone a liar is bloody rude. (Politically correctness has reached a new low, I think.) And…her trip was 12 years ago, who’d remember all the little details?

I’m off now, enrolling in Creative Storytelling 101. Maybe I’ll meet Hillary…

Apparently, people who love to shower others with gifts are happier than people who do not. Therefore, it’s not money what makes us happy, it’s giving. In case you’re short on gift ideas, check out this site.

However, the study also said giving can involve time or special skills to help other people. So it’s not about money at all, but more about helping people, I guess. 

American Idol: Who of the Final 12 gets kicked off first? I guess Kristy…

Who else is watching American Idol tonight? Gazillions of people, I guess. Since it’s down to the final 12, I wonder if the judges will change their tunes a little bit more. At the moment, Randy is “keeping it real, man”, Paula is the Pollyanna, and Simon Cowell is being witty and mean, except when he “just loved it”, spoken in that British accent of his, which makes it sound even better.

Anyway, it’s a bit of a shame that Danny Noriega got kicked off so soon, because he sure was entertaining. That’s not to say that he should have won, of course.
